state of shock
after the worldwide #metoo movement the voices against sexual violence became louder and louder. amnesty international switzerland launched a petition calling for a reform of the sexual criminal law to bring the swiss law of 1932 in line with current times. all sexual acts without mutual consent (consent) should be punishable in the future, and the male sex should be included.
in cooperation with amnesty international, we developed films that sensitize, arouse, touch, inform and above all support amnesty international's petition
generation consent
amnesty international survey
most victims do not go to the police because they feel ashamed and do not feel supported by swiss law. according to "current" law, men cannot be victims because only vaginal penetration is considered rape. therefore, the swiss law should be changed to comply with the istanbul convention. It is time for a "generation consent" to stand up for their legal support of sexual self-determination.
current swiss law
the phenomenon of shock-induced paralysis has moved us the most people become victims because they cannot defend themselves, they mentally leave their body, which now only functions as a shell, and fall into shock. the phenomenon can be compared to that of animals, which pretend to be dead as protection against enemies.
visually:
- intimate body close-ups
- micro movements
- tension of tendons, muscles and the body
- solidification
inspiration hannah villiger
auditive:
- sexual act sounds
- triggers an unpleasant feeling
- almost can't listen but have to
rape victims often fall into shock rigor. this is a subconscious temporary motor paralysis that makes it impossible for the victim to resist. visually and auditory we would like to put the viewer into this situation by means of three different clips in order to convey this underestimated rape phenomenon in an emotional and intensive way.
