altersbilder
a photographic documentation of a meeting between old & young, heinz & me. this work was created within the framework of the project "altersbilder" (pictures of old age) of the department for old age and family of the canton of aargau.
old?
what does old mean? sixty years old, fit and adventurous or ninety, fragile and in need of help?
what images do we associate with old age and old people? where do these images come from and how do they shape our relationships with older people?
seven artistic sound and image installations tell of the personal encounters between older people from all over the canton of aargau and younger photographers - and encourage us to think about the way we view old age.
alt? bilder und gedanken zum alter | a travelling installation by the canton of aargau's office for old age and family | from september 2021 | www.altersbilder.ch
that's how we got to know each other, heinz and me.
which shouldn't be a coincidence ...
being a teacher
planning, preparing, teaching, helping, encouraging, laughing, comforting, encouraging, challenging, joking, praising, building, challenging, competing.
but above all, be a friend, be a brother, be a father.
is it all by chance? the bouquet of flowers, the poem, the magazine, the portrait in front of the retirement home, meeting heinz? no i don't think so, these were and are all rather beautiful, heartfelt lessons for life.
thank you heinz
